Non-metals: These elements are located on the right side of the table and are typically gases or brittle solids. They have low melting and boiling points and are not good conductors of heat and electricity.

Metals: These elements are located on the left side of the table and are typically solids at room temperature. They have high melting and boiling points and are good conductors of heat and electricity.

  • Metalloids: These elements are located in a stair-step line between the metals and non-metals. They have properties of both metals and non-metals.

  • Lanthanides and actinides: These elements are located at the bottom of the table and have unique chemical and physical properties. They are also called "inner transition elements"

The periodic table is a vital tool for chemists and other scientists as it allows them to predict the properties and behavior of elements.
